"I didn't study as much as I wanted, so your prep course was practically my most intense preparation. Thank goodness I attended. I can't recommend it enough. Thanks for everything."
(Lee Anne Russell, RN, Nurse Educator, Scotland County, 2003 MSN-CRNA Cohort, Duke)

Sat PrepOverview: Over 2,100 working adults and students have attended PrepSuccess™ entrance exam prep courses and tutoring sessions. Participants to our courses have significantly increased their official scores by attending all classes and completing all assignments. We teach each course in traditional classrooms located in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region of North Carolina and simultaneously broadcast the instruction over the Internet using WebEx so that students located beyond commuting distance can see, hear, and participate in every classroom activity. We also digitally record each course so that students can access each class over the Internet and experience everything that occurred in class. For more information on our web cast options, please visit Web Based Learning

FREE Classroom Visit: We invite you to visit one of our traditional classrooms in person so that you can talk with the faculty and current students, see the classroom, and experience the PrepSuccess™ learning process. You will be allowed to join the class at the break, which is generally 7:30 pm for evening classes and 10:30 am for Saturday classes, and stay 90 minutes until the end of that session. We request that you not ask technical questions regarding the exam or test problems, but you are welcome to speak with students and the instructor regarding the course. To schedule a visit, view the dates and times of classes in the table located at the bottom of this page and call 919-791-0810 to coordinate. We will provide you with an email receipt to give to the instructor that authorizes you to join the class as noted above. Travel Guidance is provided to each course in the table, so ensure you print a copy of the directions prior to leaving for the class. This FREE Classroom Visit is not available for Live Online Internet access, but we offer a FREE Online Practice Class on Wednesday night just prior to the start of each course.

Course Descriptions: The 42-hour SAT PREP Course consists of a comprehensive review of Math, Critical Reading and Writing taught over a period of six weeks. Students complete a full SAT practice test during the first and last classes which are held on Saturdays. The other ten classes meet on Monday and Thursday nights for five weeks from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Math is generally covered during the first half of each class, with writing or reading covered in the other half. A table containing a schedule of upcoming courses is provided at the bottom of this page.

Math: Math content makes up roughly half of the course, including a comprehensive review of the major concepts tested on the SAT: arithmetic, algebra, word problems, geometry, and data analysis. Strategies and shortcuts for dealing with specific types of math questions are also covered.
Critical Reading: This part of the course covers the knowledge and strategies needed for sentence completion questions and those based on reading passages. Strategies for reading quickly and efficiently are emphasized, and exercises are provided to build vocabulary, an important asset for the SAT.
Writing: Two student essays are evaluated during the course, and students receive instruction on planning and executing essays within the short time allotted on the test. A comprehensive grammar review is included, and strategies for answering grammar questions are also covered.

Textbooks: The registration fee does not include the cost of the textbooks (about $40) which students purchase before the first day of class.

Kaplan's SAT Math Workbook (Second Edition) ISBN-13 9781419541865. Obtain a discount and free shipping from Barnes and Noble.
Kaplan’s SAT Comprehensive Program (2008 Edition) ISBN-13: 9781419551376. Obtain a discount and free shipping from Barnes and Noble.

Guarantee: We are so confident in the success of our courses that we guarantee you will achieve higher test scores. Participants who fulfill course requirements by attending all classes and completing all assignments for a series will get better scores. If not, you are welcome to attend the next series (space available) at NO ADDITIONAL COST.

Student Responsibilities: In order to be successful in this course, students need to arrive at class on time, attend all classes, and study outside of class. To guide you in the learning process, assignments are identified for each class. Ensure you complete your homework prior to class. A textbook that is full of problems you have solved and post-it notes on which you have written "tricks and tips" indicates a motivated learner.

Registration: PrepSuccess™ Dares You to Compare Course Prices. We accept payment by VISA or MasterCard or by certified bank check. On-line payments are protected by VeriSign data encryption security and offered via Earthlink Electronic Commerce. If you prefer, you may call our office at 919-791-0810 and provide your credit card information to a staff member who will process your payment electronically. The registration fee does NOT include the cost of textbooks (about $40) which students purchase before the first day of class.

Fees:

Classroom Attendance: The Early Bird fee for the 42-hour series is $420 ($10 / hour) if paid 30 days prior to the first class, a savings of more than $700 over the cost of other prep companies. Fees are $462 ($11 / hour) thereafter until 15 days prior to the first class at which time the fee increases to $504 ($12 / hour).

    Live Online and Recordings:
If you are not able to commute to our physical classrooms in the RTP region of North Carolina, or if you believe you may travel or have scheduling conflicts during a course, select the Live Online & Recordings option during registration and pay an additional $100. This option provides you with access to the Virtual Classroom (live over the internet as the class is taught) as well as all digital recordings of the course. Each class is broken into two 90-minute recordings which may be accessed by noon on the following day. Access to recordings is provided for up to 14 days upon completion of a course. (If you do not purchase this option during your initial registration, you may do so afterwards by selecting Live Online & Recordings Fee and pay by VISA or MasterCard).

Discounts: You may obtain a $25.00 discount if you register in teams of two or more participants, or apply to any of the colleges listed below, or have a parent employed by BCBSNC or SAS. To obtain a discount, call 919-791-0810 and provide the names of team members, or the college to which you have applied.

Refunds/Transfers/Cancellations: If you cannot attend a course for which you are registered, you may request a refund, transfer your registration to a future workshop (space available), or provide a substitute in your place. A $50 fee will be charged to process any change made 15 or more days prior to the start of a series; thereafter, refunds are not available. Visit $50 Fee to pay by VISA or MasterCard. If an emergency requires you to transfer fewer than 15 days before the series begins or during the series, a $100 processing fee will apply. Visit $100 Fee to pay by VISA or MasterCard. After payment is made, call us at 919-791-0810 to give a detailed explanation of your request.
