Over 2,100 working adults and students have attended PrepSuccess™ entrance exam prep courses and tutoring sessions. Participants to our courses have significantly increased their official scores by attending all classes and completing all assignments. We teach each course in traditional classrooms located in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region of North Carolina and simultaneously broadcast the instruction over the Internet using WebEx so that students located beyond commuting distance can see, hear, and participate in every classroom activity. We also digitally record each course so that students can access each class over the Internet and experience everything that occurred in class. For more information on our web cast options, please visit Web Based Learning.
Visit one of our free Information Sessions in person and learn more about our courses and how you can attend. We will also have industry experts who will provide FREE coaching and mentoring to help you improve your career options TODAY! Come join us and enjoy pizza while you obtain answers to your questions and learn the differences between entrance exams (SAT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT). Our experts will then share secrets to college applications and how to get accepted by your #1 college; how to evaluate your skills and decide if it is time to move on to a new career; and how to manage your professional image so that you look and act successful whenever you meet new people. Visit Information Session Schedule to obtain the date, time, and location of sessions, then call 919-791-0810 to register and reserve your space.
We invite you to visit one of our traditional classrooms in person so that you can talk with the faculty and current students, see the classroom, and experience the PrepSuccess™ learning process. You will be allowed to join the class at the break, which is generally 7:30 pm for evening classes and 10:30 am for Saturday classes, and stay 90 minutes until the end of that session. We request that you not ask technical questions regarding the exam or test problems, but you are welcome to speak with students and the instructor regarding the course. To schedule a visit, view the dates and times of classes in the table located at the bottom of this page and call 919-791-0810 to coordinate. We will provide you with an email receipt to give to the instructor that authorizes you to join the class as noted above. Travel Guidance is provided to each course in the table, so ensure you print a copy of the directions prior to leaving for the class. This FREE Classroom Visit is not available for Live Online Internet access, but we offer a FREE Online Practice Class on Wednesday night just prior to the start of each course.
The 42-hour GRE PREP Series consists of Math Prep, Verbal Prep, and Quantitative Prep courses that meet sequentially over a period of seven weeks. Students complete three computer based tests outside normal class hours thus the time in class is focused 100% on instruction. You may attend 3-hour classes on Monday and Thursday nights from 6 – 9 pm, or 6-hour classes on Saturdays from 9 am - 4 pm. (We occasionally offer courses that meet one night per week for 10 to 14 weeks or "overview " courses that meet for several weekends, so see the schedule at the bottom of this page). To meet the demands of your busy schedule, you can blend a total of 42-hours of instruction by attending classes in the evenings or on Saturdays (space available; limited to series that begin within the same week).
Math Prep: This 18-hour course provides a review of arithmetic, algebra, word problems, geometry, graphs and data analysis. Calculating by hand and mastering the content are prerequisites for the Quantitative Prep course.
Verbal Prep: This 12-hour course covers all components of the GRE Verbal section: sentence completion, antonyms, analogies, reading comprehension, and analytical writing. We also provide exercises to build your vocabulary, a most important asset for the GRE. Mastering this content is essential for scoring at the 50th percentile or higher.
Quantitative Prep: This 12-hour course applies the content of the Math Prep course to the many, unusual questions you will see in the GRE Quantitative section of the exam. We focus on techniques that will help you answer quantitative comparisons and discrete quantitative problems, and build on your knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data and graph analysis, probability, and analysis of word problems.
The registration fee does not include the cost of the textbooks (about $40) which students purchase before the first day of class.
Math Prep: The textbook for this course is Kaplan's GRE Math Workbook (Sixth Edition), ISBN 1427795045. Obtain a discount and free shipping from Barnes and Noble.
Verbal and Quantitative Prep: The textbook for these two courses is The Very Best Coaching & Study Course for the New GRE General CBT, ISBN 0878914455 by Research & Education Association. Obtain a discount and free shipping from Barnes and Noble. (This book was originally published in 1998 shortly after ETS changed the GRE, thus the use of the word "New" in the title. PrepSuccess will change to a different book as soon as ETS implements all changes to the GRE expected by Fall 2008).
: We are so confident in the success of our courses that we guarantee you will achieve higher test scores. Participants who fulfill course requirements by attending all classes and completing all assignments for a series will get better scores. If not, you are welcome to attend the next series at NO ADDITIONAL COST.
In order to be successful in this course, students need to arrive at class on time, attend all classes, and study outside of class. To guide you in the learning process, assignments are identified for each class. Ensure you complete your homework prior to class. A textbook that is full of problems you have solved and post-it notes on which you have written "tricks and tips" indicates a motivated learner.
